This quote really hits home for me. My eight year old nephew, Bobby, has cerebral palsy and has a
very difficult time writing. He was having problems in his classes with the teacher trying to read his
hand writting and often times he was having to write the assignments several times over. We were
afraid that he was going to be falling behind. As he is a very smart child, we did not want this to
happen. I was discussing this with my sister, who is also a teaching major, and neither of us could
figure out why, with today's technology that he could not be doing his work on a computer. Finally,
my sister and his instructors had decided to try to work on this with my nephew. They started out
with getting him a iPad and at the beginning of this school year the teachers finally got him the apps
needed to access his classwork and homework online. But we are still working with him on
improving his writing skills as we do not want him to be total dependent on a computer.
P.S. He is so good with finding certain things on the internet, if I have a problem I go to him
