I would use this photo to teach my students the similarities and the differences between the two presidents. Even though they were presidents of a divided nation, Davis of the Confederacy and Lincoln of the Union, they had many similarities and many differences.

1.       What is the home state of each president?

2.       Are their beliefs in slavery the same or different?

3.       Why did each president choose the side that did?

4.       What other similarities do these pictures present?

        5.     How did each president serve their country before the Civil War
